Careers at ScotVet

Join Glasgow's proudly independent vet team

We are an independently owned team of veterinary professionals providing care and advice to pets and their owners across Glasgow, through our Baillieston and Sandyhills sites. For over 20 years, we’ve helped Glasgow’s pets live longer, healthier lives – and our team is at the heart of everything we do. If you’re looking for vet or nurse jobs in Glasgow, we’d love to hear from you.

Proudly independent

We have always been an independently owned practice. Our owners and the people who lead our practices have decades of experience caring for pets in Scotland, and have always believed that independent practice ownership is the best way to deliver the best clinical care to our clients’ pets.

That means our team have the clinical freedom to make decisions based on what’s best for each pet.

Growing with us

We are an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice on the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP), and an Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice offering clinical training and work experience for student veterinary nurses. All of our team undertake regular further training as part of their job, and our team are offered CPD on canine stress, behaviour and communication as part of our Dog Friendly Clinic accreditation.

We’re proud to grow our own talent. Several of our registered veterinary nurses first came to us as students – Kiera joined us in her third year of training and stayed on permanently once she’d passed her exams, while Murron first came to us on work experience back in 2015 and qualified in 2021.

Our leadership team is home-grown too. Director and vet Callum first spent time with us on a work experience placement when he was just 13, and today Louise, Lizzi and Callum lead the practice as directors – proof that our independent practice can grow the leaders of the future.

Where you'll work

In August 2019 we opened our Baillieston branch in what was the old Royal Mail Sorting Office – completely refurbished and redesigned into a modern veterinary practice, fully equipped to offer up-to-date diagnostic and treatment facilities. Our Sandyhills branch has been part of ScotVet since 2000.

We hold silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation from International Cat Care and Dog Friendly Clinic accreditation from Dogs Trust, with a dedicated Cat Advocate and Dog Advocate on our team. So you’ll be working somewhere that puts real thought into making every visit as calm and stress-free as possible.
