ScotVet has always been an independently owned Glasgow vet practice. For over 20 years, we’ve helped Glasgow’s pets live longer, healthier lives – and we’ve always believed that independent practices are the way to deliver the best clinical care to our patients.
Where it all began
Shettleston
Our roots
ScotVet originally started in Shettleston, caring for pets in Glasgow’s east end – and we’ve been proud members of XLVets, a community of independent practices, since the start.
2000
Sandyhills joins the family
We took on Sandyhills Veterinary Clinic from Michael Boyce, who had run it as a branch practice for many years.
2019
A new home in Baillieston
In August 2019, we opened a new branch in Baillieston, located in what was the old Royal Mail Sorting Office – completely refurbished and redesigned into a modern practice, fully equipped to offer up-to-date diagnostic and treatment facilities.
March 2023
Our Lifetime Care Club launches
We launched our Lifetime Care Club – a forward-thinking take on veterinary health plans, giving your pet the very best standard of preventative veterinary care, including unlimited consultations with our vets and nurses.
October 2025
Growing our leadership team
We welcomed three longstanding team members – Louise, Lizzi and Callum – into our leadership team as directors, fantastic proof of our independent practice’s ability to grow leaders of the future.

Our owners have always believed that independent practice ownership is the best way to deliver the best clinical care to our clients’ pets. It means our vets have the clinical freedom to deal with, and respond to, our clients’ needs directly.
